Te Haerenga o Tama rāua ko Kōtiro - How it’s going

Te Haerenga o Tama rāua ko Kōtiro was a concept initiated by the Energy Academy, to engage our future workforce and excite them about complex problem solving opportunities in the energy sector. The story and artwork were developed by Maui Studios, to tell the story of energy and bring the characters to life through Te Ao Māori.

The Adventures of Tama and Kōtiro is for rangatahi who channel Māui-tikitiki-a-Taranga to challenge the status quo and dare to ask the tough questions, all in service of a positive future for our communities and environment.

The graphic novel has been sent to print and will soon be available to industry and schools.

What next?

This story will be shared at the end of November with students at Rolleston College over a 2-day pilot course developed by the Energy Academy in partnership with Rolleston College teachers. 

The end goal is to develop the story and teaching course into an NCEA-accredited digital game - with funding support from industry.
